Founded by Larry Hokanson in 1987 as a solo operation, today the company has full-service showrooms in New York, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston, as well as production facilities in Canada and Thailand. The firm enjoys a sterling reputation for both invention and luxury: the house specializes in ornate traditional patterns that reinterpret the lessons of decorative history, worked in exotic yarns. It also produces sophisticated contemporary designs in complicated and unexpected combinations of textures and fibers.
The MICHAEL-CLEARY Showroom is in its 20th year in the Washington DC Design Center, and opened its doors in the Chicago Merchandise Mart in 2005.
